I’m hoping to release this new version of WinPET very soon, but I dont want to miss anything, since this will be the last WinPET release for a long time. I’ll still be listening to suggestions in the forums for a little while longer, in case there is anything else I can improve.
I will be releasing another version of WinPET some time over the next few weeks. This will be the final version of WinPET, and after this, I will be moving on to other projects.
WinPET 2.5.5 wont be a major improvement, but there are a few more things I need to improve, and the new home screen will have more shortcut buttons to some of the main menu features. The scrolling speed of the menus will also be improved.
WinPET 2.0.5 is almost ready for release. I have finished working on the extra Windows Vista features. I have translated most of it to Japanese, but i’m leaving the english descriptions in the menu.
The current version of Windows PET does not work properly on the japanese version of Windows. I will release a japanese version of Windows PET shortly after the English version.
A few Icon changes. The Internet shortcut on the home screen is now ‘Search’, which i think people will want to use more, and saves a click in the internet menu. I added the Windows XP address book to the main menu although I dont think anyone uses it. In the Vista version, there will be shortcuts to Contacts and Calender in the main menu. Im sure more people use these features on Windows Vista than XP.
I just added Amber to the Colour list. There are now 15 colours to choose from. Also, I made the yellow more vivid. I won’t adding anymore colours for a while, and I’ve started adding the Vista features. This won’t take very long, and I should be done before the 15th of August. I’ll continue to add more features in future after the release.
Welcome to the WinPET Blog. This blog will answer questions on the WinPET program, which I will be releasing shortly. I’ll start with a bit of info on the program. It’s basically an app launcher with a Megaman Net navi on the front. PET stands for ‘PErsonal Terminal’, which is a PDA-like device used in the megaman series.

WinPET will be released for Windows Vista and XP separately, since there are compatibility issues. WinPET Vista will include shortcuts to the features exclusive to Windows Vista.
I sent the program to DarkKittenGamer to test last week, and he recorded and uploaded a Video of the program. Since the video was uploaded, i have made many changes to the program. I have replaced the static menus with sliding menus and added a few new features.
